Bucket List Redux
After a family visit to the Zoo on Saturday, I spent a lot of Saturday and Sunday on supplemental oxygen. One a.m. Monday morning I entered our bedroom, became dizzy and collapsed. My wife and daughter needed nearly two hours to get me off the floor and into bed. I was on supplemental oxygen most of the night. By Monday morning I was a bit better. By noon I was much worse.
My wife took me to the nearest hospital. I’m 73, on anticoagulants and had had a fall. I was seen, sent to CT scan, put in ER room, became increasingly short of breath, seen by physician who ordered me to ICU. Second CT 4:30 that overnight. Abducted by aliens who put me in strange helmet to read my thoughts. Discharged the next afternoon.
Diagnosis: Excess CO2 in brain. Helmet also drove out CO2. Short-term memory now crap, not improving.
Such is life.
Old age is punishment for something we didn't do.
CO2 saturation as you are on O2 is a constant risk. Sorry that is taking it's toll.
