Change is Coming
When I started One Foot in the Gravy, I pledged that all content would be free to all subscribers. That will not change. What will change is a promise to publish a minimum of once per week, and once per month to let readers decide what will be written.
You Choose
As of today, I am simultaneously working on multiple articles.
1. How the return of inflation impacts groups differently. With inflation running at 7%, not all items rise at the same rate; some necessary items increase at much higher rates, with significantly greater impacts on the poor and middle classes than on the ruling elites.
2. The myth of systemic white supremacism and how that has divided America.
3. How “reimagining policing” led to death and destruction in black communities.
4. Orphan diseases and how to help with them.
5. How homelessness has changed in the last sixty years.
6. What it’s like to surrender control to slowly encroaching death.
Why
The options will be listed on Thursday; on Saturday. Each will be entitled You Choose, and access to those posts will be limited to those who choose to pay for a subscription. I need to produce longer and better posts, and want to pay a researcher.
This change will occur on March 17, 2002.
Thank you.
I think they ae all good topics but "How homelessness has changed in the last sixty years" might give people the background needed to understand today. Once there were boarding houses and many options for lone individuals, now there are not. And of course Reagan's deinstitutionalization which may not be clear to people working with the homeless. I'd like to know your perspective.
Bill these are all excellent and important topics. My top two would be
1. What it’s like to surrender control to slowly encroaching death.
2. How homelessness has changed in the last sixty years.
But again all of them are worth visiting.
