Cognitive Dissonance
The country appears beset, almost controlled, by cognitive dissonance. It ranges from education through health and race relations to economic policy.
Education:
Every policy, law or speech is judged first by how inclusive it is of transsexuals, people experiencing gender dysmorphia. Schoolboards are dominated by people requiring others to think first of gender dysmorphia when considering lesson plans, written materials and conversation. Yet, the CDC has determined that a maximum of 0.6% of the population is transsexual. In Europe, that number is a maximum of 0.3%. We are scolded that the most important thing in education is to teach youngsters about sex in a gender-neutral world.
Gender dysmorphia is real, and those with the condition should be treated with the same respect due all others. That’s it. We need to include transsexuals in our work and social lives. Sex education does not need to be clinical and graphic. It is usually best handled in the family. Our eldest daughter, now 48, asked my wife about 35 years ago if she had been a virgin on her wedding night. My wife responded truthfully that she had. She then asked, “What about you, Dad?” When I answered no, she had a look of great confusion on her face. She processed the information for nearly a full minute and then said “Oh!” I’m not certain that at 13 she was ready to consider what a transsexual is or was. Pre-kindergarten appears to be inappropriate, not because sex is dirty or bad, but because it is good and brings the pair together intimately. It’s not something that can be understood until a brain is further developed.
I consulted a long-time internet friend, a scientist who has been actively involved in Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual issues for two decades, about his observed reality:
This is perhaps the hottest-button question at the moment. On one hand, it makes sense for all persecuted minorities to band together, for political power. Transgender/transsexuals were welcome in gay spaces as far back as I can remember, in large part thanks to the popularity of drag.
On the other, trans activists have “taken over” most LGBT organizations (notably the HRC) despite being the smallest faction in said groups, and their issues have very much hijacked the movement (you never hear about gay/lesbian issues anymore). This very loud group of activists have started attacking the other parts of the LGBT coalition, most notably cis white gay men…who are one level above scum (cost white straight men).
It’s gotten so bad, I’ve spoken with Gen-Z gay men who have been harassed out of their campus LGBT student organizations simply because they feel confident in their gender identity/body. If you’re a well-adjusted gay man with a modicum of success, you’re not welcome in the hyper-woke LGBT spaces.
There’s also a third problem: MOGAI. This is a rabbit hole, but MOGAI is the new term for 10000 different gender identities among people who think LGBT is too exclusionary. It’s mostly teens and college students identifying as unicorns and angels depending on the planetary phases and the weather, but they ironically are a threat to actual LGBT. How so? MOGAI allows cis straight women to claim LGBT status, invade traditional LGBT spaces, and steamroll anyone who doesn’t want gay clubs filling up with unicorn-sexuals. They also have a special name for transgender individuals who have diagnosed gender dysphoria, “truscum.” Why scum? Because adhering to traditional genders, whether as a gay, a lesbian, or a transgender, is deeply offensive to the MOGAI community.
So, in short, it’s a hot fucking mess, and the LGBT community isn’t really a community anymore, not in the traditional sense I’ve understood it in past decades. Sad, really.
Health:
COVID19 was never anything more than a particularly nasty common cold bug. It was clear to those of us who already knew that the Wuhan Virology Center had been China’s center for biowarfare research for years that the mutation did not occur in a wet market. Panic was never supportable.
It was used to justify broad expansion of state powers at the expense of constitutional freedoms. For example, the Biden Administration suspended all rental payments. This so distorted the housing market that the greatest losers were the poor. After repeated losses in the Supreme Court, a few Biden administration policies failed to be overturned.
In the current situation, in a single week the current administration declared disappointment that the CDC was ending mask mandates on flights and in airports, while simultaneously ending the invocation of the provision of Title 42 that allow deportation of immigrants during a pandemic. In other words, we have a pandemic and we don’t. Simultaneously.
Race Relations
The Biden Administration assures us that the biggest security problem in the U.S. is white supremacists. He is wholly captive to the woke faction of his party, and believes that all whites (except himself) are oppressors and all people of color are oppressed. There are several problems with this:
According to The Hill, “The Quinnipiac poll published Wednesday showed Biden’s approval rating at 33 percent, marking a low point for the president in that poll. But his approval among Hispanic voters in the poll was even lower, at 26 percent.
The overwhelming number of illegal immigrants crossing the Southwest Border are people of color. There is no explanation for why they would want to enter a fundamentally racist country.
The idea that white police officers actively seek out unarmed young black men for murder has been thoroughly debunked by none other than The Washington Post. Its public-access database shows that in 2019 a total of eleven unarmed black men were killed by police. Cross-racial homicides are rare. According to the FBI, 79% of white victims were killed by whites, and 89% of blacks were killed by blacks. Proportionally, far more blacks are killed than whites, but the problem is black-on-black crime.
Economic Policy
President Biden has denied that inflation existed, blamed supply chain problems, greedy businesses, price gouging, the pandemic, other sources and, most recently, Vladimir Putin for inflation. He has yet to acknowledge that too many dollars pursuing too few goods is always a major cause of inflation. Another is artificially-stimulated demand without a concomitant increase in production. Virtually unlimited printing of money by the Biden Administration coupled with encouraging people not to go to work has so damaged the dollar that we have lost our status as the world’s sole reserve currency. The Yuan is now an alternative, and both Russia and India are on board.
The real danger of unlimited printing of money (the latest proposal is to forgive student loans, a mere $1.6 trillion dollar bill to be paid by the taxpayer) is driving up the interest rate on US Debt. That interest rate applies to every dollar in debt the US has, currently about $30 trillion. The government’s ability to function is seriously threatened if the baseline interest rate is 8%. But the baseline interest rate must exceed the inflation rate to bring down inflation. The inflation rate is racing toward ten percent, and at a 10.25% base rate we have no money except to pay interest on the debt plus existing entitlement programs such as social security and Medicare.
The Dems are plummeting in the polls, so why not forgive student debt? Sounds like they will make a lot of friends doing that, right? Not so fast! What about all of those students and families who worked hard for decades to save up to send their kids to college using their own money? They will see loan forgiveness as the federal government giving them the finger. Sorry, suckers. You should have taken out loans instead of working so hard and saving so diligently. And what about the families who are no working hard to set aside money for their kids' college? They are wondering whether college is going to be free. Who the fuck knows, but if the federal govt forgives another$1.6 trillion and inflation kicks up even more, you can bet that Biden will blame it on Putin or anything other than printing empty-calorie money.
Well Cloward-Piven wanted all these things to happen. Service on the debt might be the alternate way to break the system. My crystal ball fails to inform what happens as the economy is brought to its knees. I suspect a large number of very unhappy people. The Chinese are anxiously awaiting to buy except they themselves are facing some very real economic issues.
Meanwhile for too many they are unaware that runaway inflation will lower their standard of living. Some uncomfortable days may lie ahead.
