End of Mass Transit Mask Mandates
A Federal judge in Florida has issued a nationwide order lifting mask mandates on mass transit. The Biden Administration, based on CDC statements, has indicated it will appeal.
Should anyone happen upon the data on which CDC founded its statements, can you please let the rest of us know. If we still need masks, there’s a pandemic. If the Administration is declaring the end of the pandemic by reversing the provision of Title 42, which has been used to deport millions of illegal immigrants, can you please let us know should you stumble on the data on which the Administration founded its decision?
On behalf of a confused public, I thank you.
The issue wasn't about if the mask mandate actually did anything but if the CDC actually had the authority to issue such a mandate and it doesn't. Nothing to do with masks which are only theater garb of no particular demonstrated utility in preventing spread. Nor related to a pandemic of which Title 42 actually has authority to attempt to prevent infected person entering the US. Title 42 is law.
Good to see some elimination of administrative edicts that are not backed by law. Now if we can place a limit on how long an emergency can last. Can the current emergency last forever? We agree that in an emergency our legislators may not have time to act and pass enabling law, but allowing the executive to act arbitrarily forever seems to ignore the rule of law.
As part of the confused public, I am irritated to report that NPR (no surprise) is raking the judge over the coals for her action in defense of freedom and in defiance of government overreach. I hope the Easter Bunny comes to rescue judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle - as he did yesterday to keep Brandon from making a fool of himself again.
