James Carville was a Genius
Following the 1992 election, James Carville explained the outcome in the simplest possible terms: It’s the economy, stupid.
After the November 2, 2021 voting results, Carville once again explained the outcome in the simplest possible terms: The Democrats need a woke detox clinic.
During the election Democrats blamed former President Trump for inciting white supremacists, the term they used to refer to parents at school board meetings asking questions. Further, they were called “terrorists” by school boards and other government officials. Parents were accused of violence and threats of violence, which justified Federal investigation of them.
The January 6, 2021, incursion into the capital is blamed on white supremacists, who allegedly beat a capitol police officer to death with a fire extinguisher. Another fable; he died of natural causes. Geofencing was used to identify people in the vicinity by their mobile phone numbers; they were called white supremacists, arrested and jailed on trespassing charges. Recently released video shows that many were waved into the Capitol by capitol police. Several never entered to Capitol at all.
Defund the Police movements were finally seen as both financially and ethically draining. As was critical race theory in education. In the former, we as a society indulged our least self-aware members and allowed them to throw tantrums at others’ expense. In the latter, after paying teachers’ unions hundreds of billions of dollars in ransom in useless attempts to work on behalf of our children, we finally were allowed inside the classroom, looking over our children’s shoulders at the computer screen, to see what was being taught.
We discovered that critical race theory, seeing everything through the lens of skin color, was being promoted in our schools. Rather than teaching our children, we were paying to have them indoctrinated in divisive and harmful lunacy. We reinstituted segregation, actually fired people for being the wrong race, taught white children to hate themselves for being white oppressors, and people of color to consider themselves helpless victims.
We were assured that parents had no role in their children’s education, and if they dared ask questions of local school boards, they were labeled domestic terrorists. And at every turn we were told that Donald Trump was at fault. Attempting to explain the revolt that occurred, the chattering class informed us that Democratic losses were indeed caused by Trump voters. Across the nation, Democrats ran against Donald Trump, who wasn’t on the ballot. Republicans ran on improving education and economic opportunity. It’s an easy contrast to understand: Something beats nothing 99 times out of 100.
Thanks Bill - you captured my sentiment regarding the entirely bullshit Democrat party. I have been telling my kids who have school age kids to talk to your friends about it, go to school board meetings, and "it is time to push back like hell!". I have already been doing the talk about it and I should start going to school board meetings again.
Thanks for confirming observations. Some can never be satisfied with a movement allowing fair treatment of their issue, they always seem to push for more and demonize any resistance. Do I really care who a person loves? Perhaps I care if you call it marriage when I think that contract is really about child protection should it happen. Want to redefine it? OK but don't shove it in my face. Then we discover that children are being taught that some are better than others? Nope, too far. My greats might have held slaves, but not me. My greats might have pushed some aside to make a home, but I worked hard for mine. I'm not responsible for their behaviour nor are my children. Perhaps with all the overreach Carville notes he obvious - we are pretty well fed up.
