Psychosis
I can think of no better description for the Biden Administration’s public relations policy. It is totally unconnected to reality.
Ø We don’t have shortages; we have a supply chain problem. Among my frequent contacts are the world’s premier authority on ocean shipping and the man who used to own the world’s largest checkbook. I can state categorically that what we have is a policy problem.
· There is a shortage of 80,000 truck drivers in the US. Independent truckers, who constitute a majority of those remaining, will not enter California, which is hostile to both fossil fuel-powered vehicles and small businesses.
· We have steadily given away our manufacturing to other countries, and truck drivers have nothing to carry to ports, thus have to travel empty half the time.
Ø Defunding police departments, denying police the same limited immunity afforded to other public employees, abolition of cash bail and refusing to consider the safety of the community have not affected crime. This does not pass the laugh test.
Ø There is nothing we can do to bring down the cost of petroleum.
· We went from exporter to importer of petroleum overnight with a signature. It is true that unscrambling the omelet is difficult.
Ø The Southern Border is not open. Hundreds of thousands of people crossing every month, from more than a hundred countries, being relocated within the U.S., is a closed border? Gimme a break.
All of this pales in comparison to climate change. We were just told that we can’t conclude definitively that climate change was the only cause of last week’s record-breaking tornado. In fact, we can look at records kept since the 1960s when we first were able to track storms from orbit. Storm severity and frequency have remained unchanged for as long as we have records. Geological records support this.
The only forms of renewable energy that are always reliable and involve no carbon emissions are nuclear and hydropower. They produce in total at most 27% of US needs. All other forms of renewable energy, including wind, are unreliable, involve carbon emissions, or both.
We are told to get cars off the road, abandon petroleum-based propulsion, and rely on electricity. The electricity needs to come from somewhere, and it appears that about 73% will be dirty. It will just be out of sight of the effete white liberals who so enjoy instructing the rest of us on how to live.
We were asleep for too long, expecting life would just go on, like always. Biden got elected by unusual numbers and a sitting President received more votes than usual as well. The pandemic arrived with great fear and great hope of relief. Relief was short lived and the pandemic rolls along despite anything we do. There are still those who harbor hate of their neighbors and friends - a dark psychosis. But many are awakening to the sense that things are very, very wrong. And our neighbors are not to blame, but a mass hysteria (https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/mass-formation-psychosis) has taken over and we are beginning to see it.
A shared and self serving psychosis is the most difficult to treat.
