I want to c(100) Banana Republic - by Brad - Euphoric Recall (substack.com)ross-post this column by my friend Brad Neaton, but I appear to have irritated the gods of Substack and cannot make it stick. I’ve been writing this post in my head for about a week, then found that Brad had already written it. The only addition of substance that I have to add is that the Biden Administration has accomplished something I thought impossible: with the arrest of the leader of the opposition party he has completed the conversion of our grand experiment into a police state. This takes place in Latin America, or Africa, or Central Asia. It does not occur in the USA. Yet it has. A minor functionary of the Democratic Party has indicted the leader of the opposition party. Rather than acknowledge the dangers precedent out of self-interest and the damage this will do to our republic, Biden has chosen to remain mute. You don’t have to love Trump, or even agree with him, to see that this is crossing a line.

I suspect the public is aware of the insanity of what we are seeing. Sadly, it has subsumed many important issues for a period. But courts can be remarkably slow and this case will likely rack up a lot of lawyer fees over an extended period. Whether it stymies Trump awaits a lot of decisions yet to happen. The case is fully intended to quiet and squash Trump's ability to campaign. The various fireworks will consume the news for quite some time.
Just think more shoes to drop. Man o man, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcMVdh915AE providing Trump's plan for the swamp has them all united to make sure he can't get any traction. We shall see.
