I'm guessing that in societies where women and girls must spend hours every day carrying water probably have few educational or job opportunities. We live in a mixed-up world where countless plastic bottles are thrown away after their microplastic-contaminated water is gone. And consider how much water almond farmers in California use and how much water (and water contaminated poisons) are used to keep golf courses beautiful.

I took a bus tour from Cancun to Chichen Itza and learned how important clean water is. For anyone interested in vacationing in Mexico, don't eat the lettuce.

Hi Bill,

You wouldn't happen to be a Cuban Missile Crisis War Orphan, would you?

If so, then you know who I am.

We would have some catching-up to do.

John.

The central fact of my life right now is that I have NPH (Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus). As you're aware, one of the aspects of the disease is a one-way ticket to non-Alzheimer's dementia. I'm on that journey; I've lost much of my sharpness, aggravated by expressive aphasia resulting from two CVAs and a host of TIAs. Add to the mix one MI, one cardiac arrest, 2x bouts of bladder cancer, bilateral trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, cluster headaches and the list goes on. Most of my life I've been the smartest person in the room; today I've lost most of that. My IQ is probably down to 105 from 175. My memory is crap. I can no longer function in Arabic, Italian, Nederlands, Norwegian, Urdu, Hindi, French, German or Portuguese and I'm barely able to handle the minimums in Spanish. In other words, I'm of little help to anyone.

Hi Bill.

Your familiar tone assures me that you are almost certainly the same Bill Heath who went cave diving with a seriously drunken "Sick Rick" with one flipper, so long ago.

I am sorry to learn of the death of your daughter.

All our 4 kids got the shots, basically at work, though 2 had already been through COVID. I advised against it, and I accepted firing for vaccine-non-compliance, realizing that dehumanization was taking place, as we had taught the kids when traveling to the Anne Frank House, Dachau and Tuol Sleng.

What I had not realized was that when it would actually happen in my world, I would need to stand in the open "naked with the Jews", rather than get away.

I was fired from People's Community Clinic after 18 cumulative years, and being the only COVID-treating physician, which became politically stressful for the management. Tale of that day in the vegetable garden at PCC is here: https://www.johndayblog.com/2021/10/go-down-gardening.html

I made my choice. I believe that I was some small part of halting the wave of dehumanization. I get Social Security, grow vegetables, and designed and built a small house near Shiner (Yoakum), doing as much of the work as I could over about 18 months.

I'm a blogger, as you have seen.

We are much alike in our perspectives, as you have seen.

I just checked my inbox, got your email, and sent you some catch-up-for-the-years stuff.
